“We really appreciate the wonderful time you gave us. Farm families are very kind and all of the members told me that they were looked after so well by good families. What you gave us was more than we had expected. We really felt the professionalism and hospitality in your and farm families’ service went beyond just business. We learned a lot of things from you during our visiting. And we will never forget eating good food and seeing wonderful landscapes and your hospitality. Thank you kindly.”

“Next time we don’t have to go to Sydney and just want to stay with my farm host father and mother longer.”

“Dear Colin and Sandy,

Though I was so nervous at first because of my first farmstay, I was able to relax because you welcomed me so kindly. There were a lot of amazing things, a large house, a huge garden and a numbers of cattle. I played billiards for the first time. I also enjoyed playing with dogs. Thank you for delicious dinner and snacks. I liked sausages and potato salad I ate on the second day. Thank you for your kindness. Take care of yourself.”

Sincerely yours, Momoko. August, 2004.

“Dear Papa and Mama,

Thank you for two days. I’m very nice to meet your family. I promise that I shall never forget the day we met first time. Mama’s lovely smile, Papa’s cool eyes and cute as three dogs were eased my mind. I really appreciate it!!

I actually that I wanted to talk, but I don’t speak English well, but Papa and Mama always have a smile on your face. I’m very very happy!!! I will treasure the memories of those days always. Now I remember, your present is very nice!! It is kind of you to give me such a lovely present, we just love it!!

“Dear Mr and Mrs Byrne,

We came back home safe with a lot of gratitude and happiness from Australia. We really appreciated your warm and sincere welcome. Everything was well organized and well planned and perfect. I respect your greatness. Farmstay was really the highlight of our school trip and I was overwhelmed by the farm people’s warm personality and friendliness. Our students will never forget what they experienced on the farm.”

Principal, Yokohama Eiwa Gakuin High School, November, 2005.

“To Helen and Eric,

I’m very grateful to you for letting us stay in your home for four days. I feel all of this staying was a first for me. There was, for example, feeding ducks, chickens and alpacas and eating Australian food such as fish and chips and watching wild kangaroos and koalas. Those were very wonderful. During my stay I thought there were more nature and kind people in Australia than in Japan and that Helen cooked very, very well and that Eric searched kangaroos, koalas, wombats, etc very, very well. Also, I could enjoy staying your home, playing UNO with you at evening and playing with Teddy, Rudy and Charlie, and of course, talking with you... I love Australia better than before and I really want to live there in the future.”
