Melbourne, VIC

Experience country life in Kyneton/Macedon Ranges, Ballarat Goldfields, Great Ocean Road or the Yarra Valley regions!

Kyneton & Ballarat:

To experience the true country escape, a farmstay just 1 or 1.5 hours from Melbourne is the answer. Kyneton and Ballarat are the centres for the farmstays and you will be amazed by the open space and the chance to see wildlife in its natural environment. Farm sizes vary from just a few acre hobby farms with a variety of animals to very large sheep farms.

Typical farms in these areas are beef cattle, sheep, horses, emus, alpaca, goats, vegetables, flowers, crops, vineyards and mixed farms.

Great Ocean Road:

Drive one of the world’s most scenic coastal touring routes, the Great Ocean Road, spanning 243 kilometres along the stunning coastline of Victoria’s south-west. Take in the panoramic views as the road winds along cliff tops, up to breathtaking headlands, down onto the edge of beaches, across river estuaries and through lush rainforests. Built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 and dedicated to soldiers killed during World War I, the road is the world’s largest war memorial. Winding through beautiful terrain along the coast and providing access to several prominent landmarks, including the Twelve Apostles limestone stack formations, the road is an important and most beautiful tourist attraction in the region.

Typical farms in these areas are sheep, beef cattle, crops, horses, and dog training farms. Most farms are located near Geelong/Torquay which is at the start of Great Ocean Road.

Yarra Valley:

The Yarra Valley is the name given to the region surrounding the Yarra River in Victoria, Australia. The river originates approximately 90 kilometres east of the Melbourne central business district and flows towards it and out into Port Phillip Bay. The Yarra Valley is host to a thriving wine growing industry with rolling green hills. The area’s relatively cool climate makes it particularly suited to the production of high-quality chardonnay, pinot noir and sparkling wine.

The Yarra Valley has a terrific array of hero attractions – things that really should be on your ‘must do’ list, maybe even your ‘bucket list’. Organise a trip and you will create a stay no one will ever forget.

Typical farms in these areas are sheep, horses, deer and mixed farms.
