Experience country life in the tropics! Farmstays are based on the Atherton Tablelands with a variety of farms and farm experiences to enjoy. Just a one hour drive from Cairns, you can stay on a real ‘Aussie’ farm and see so much more than the city itself. Rolling hills, plantations, rainforests all provide for a unique farmstay, unlikely to be experienced anywhere else in the world.
The types of farms are dairy, cattle, sugar cane, fruit, vegetable, fish, coffee and nut.
Farm activities could be:
- Hay feeding of animals
- Calving
- Branding of animals
- Farm maintenance
- Mowing of lawns
- Fencing
- Drenching of animals
- Moving animals from paddock to paddock
- Picking fruit, berries or vegetables
- Ear tagging of animals
- Weighing of animals
- Hand feeding animals
- Collecting eggs
- Planting and watering of fruit trees
- Watering, weeding, planting and seeding of vegetables
* The above activities can be seasonal and selected activities are only suitable on some farms.
